FWF Kit Components
Jabiru USA Sport Aircraft has developed a complete firewall forward kit for several popular kitplanes, including the Zenith line, many RANS designs, and most recently, Van's RV-12. All FWF kit components are manufactured here in the USA. Careful attention was paid to the fit and finish of the fiberglass parts with the result that the cowls and other fiberglass parts are the best in the industry requiring minimal surface prep before painting.
Cooling is an important part of any engine installation. Jabiru USA has configured each FWF kit to provide adequate cooling air flow under all environmental conditions.
| Cowls | Upper and lower cowls are made of fiberglass and supplied with most Firewall Forward kits. The cowls are designed for fast and easy removal using Camlock fasteners, hinge pins, machine screws, or a combination of the above as suited to the airframe. |
| Gel Coat Finish | The fiberglass parts are very high quality with a gel coat finish that requires only a minor bit of filling and sanding before being ready for paint. |
| Molded Air Intakes | The carb intake air duct and cabin heat air intake NACA style ducts are already molded into the cowl. No more messy epoxy work! |
| Oil Door | The top cowl includes an oil door for easy and quick oil level checks. |
| Spinner | Kits come standard with a spinner. This contributes to cooling and improves the airplane's looks. Fiberglass spinners have a high quality gel coat that is ready for paint with just a light scuff. No filling required. A polished aluminum spinner is usually optional, but some kits include it as standard equipment. |
| Carb Heat | A small airbox that easily fits on the firewall. All hose flanges are already bonded in place. |
| Oil Cooler | The oil cooler is standard equipment for all kits. It usually mounts inside the lower cowl with a "chin" scoop. |
| Stainless Braided Hoses w/ Aeroquip AN fittings | Aviation grade oil hoses with anodized aluminum AN threaded fittings. No more clamped oil hoses! |
| Throttle | Precise rpm management from new Vernier throttle and new carby throttle arm. |
| Installation Instructions | Clear instructions with photos for most kits, with new instruction manuals currently in process. |
| Prop | White Sensenich wood propeller is standard. Gray or black available at extra cost. |
| Cabin Heat (optional $319.00) |
Efficient cabin heat that provides LOTS of warm air. In our airplane we have to shut it down some, if the OAT is over 30 degrees! |
